The COVID-19 pandemic has changed all of our lives over the past few months, indeed many people have lost their lives as a result of it and health organisations fear that there could be a second wave. Epidemiologist advise that It is imperative that we continue to maintain social distancing and reduce group gatherings whenever possible in order to protect people.
Our boating season has been cut short this year and only really started on the 4th July 2020, many people have had to cancel their trips away in the spring due to the lock down situation. We recognise that we are half way through the season and members will be trying to salvage what’s left of this season to enjoy their boating and plan holiday trips away on their boats.
For those reasons, we as a committee have decided to cancel our Annual Rally this year due to social restrictions as we will not be able to have a marque and party. This year would have been our 40th anniversary and we were planning to have a special event, but we feel that there is no point having a few limited events just for the sake of it and putting members at unnecessary risk.
Hopefully you can enjoy the rest of the season uninterrupted and next year if the pandemic situation has improved we can look forward to holding the rally once again.
