1 - Sign in

You can sign in to the website using "Sign In" link at the top right of the page, from the home page (left hand menu) or you will be prompted / automatically redirected if you try to request a page that is restricted to online members.

To sign in to the members area of the website please enter your email address and password.

If you have forgotten your password then click on "Forgotten your password"

Enter your email (the email address that you used to register on the site) and then click Submit.  Your password will then be sent to the email address entered.

1.1 - Requesting an account

If you are not already registered and would like to request an online account then please complete the request form and click Request Account.

 

Please note:  All fields are required for registration.

Your details will be forwarded to the Club Secretary to validate your membership credentials.  Your account will then be created by FBC online admin and your sign in details will be provided to you in an email.

Please ensure that when you log in to the web site for the first time you change your member password, details on how do this can be found in section 2.1.

2 - User Details

Once signed in you can view your user details clicking "You are signed in" at the top left of the page.

 

If your details change or are incorrect, you can request any required changes by emailing the Club Secretary using the link just below your user details.

2.1 - Change your password

You can change your member password from the "User Details" screen.

Enter your current password then enter your preferred new password and click Submit.  A message will be displayed confirming your password has been changed.

3 - Diary

The FBC Diary can be accessed using the "Diary" link from the main menu at the top and bottom of the page.

The diary utilises a standard calendar with a month by month view.

To navigate between months use the arrow keys to the left and right of the calendar.

The selected month will be displayed in the centre.  If you wish to reset the month to the current month click on the centre button (displaying the selected month)

If there is a diary event on a day within the selected month this will show as a star for the duration of the event.

To view event details click on the required date.

3.1 Events

Details of the event are displayed on this screen.  If you wish to view more information then click on and if further information is available it will be displayed in a new browser window.

If you wish to add your name to an event enter comment (Optional) or just click Count Me In to record your intention to attend the event.

If you subsequently wish to remove your name from the attendance list then click Remove.

4 - Members

The members area can be accessed using the "Members" link from the main menu at the top and bottom of the page.

If you are not already signed in then you will be automatically redirected to the "Sign In" page,  once signed in you will be redirected back to the "Members" page.

Registered online member details will be displayed on this screen.

5 - Forum

The members forum can be accessed from the members area by clicking on "Members" link on the main menu at the top or bottom of the page.

Member services are listed on the left hand side of the page, click on "Forum"

5.1 - Search Forum

To search the forum entries you can enter part or all of the word you wish to search for.  You can search be keyword (Topic/ Reply text) or by the member who created the Topic/Reply.   Once the search details have been entered click Search.

5.2 - Add Topic

If you would like to add a new topic for discussion then enter a topic subject and description details then click Add Topic.

Your new Topic will now be displayed in the list.

5.3 - View Post

To view a post in the forum hover your mouse over the row of the topic you would like to view.  Once the row is highlighted in yellow left click on your mouse and the post will be displayed.

5.4 - Reply to a Post

To reply to a post first select the Topic by following step 4.3.

Enter the details for the reply and click Post.

6 - Notice Board

The members notice board can be accessed from the members area by clicking on "Members" link on the main menu at the top or bottom of the page.

Member services are listed on the left hand side of the page, click on "Notice Board"

6.1 Search and Filter

To search notice board enter part or all of the word you wish to search for and click Search.  To clear a search remove text from the search field and click Search.

To filter select the required text from the drop down filter list.

6.2 View Notice Board Entries

Notice Board entries are displayed in the format of category (Information, For Sale, Wanted), Subject and Description, Created by and Created On.  If there is an attached document then a paper clip symbol will be displayed. To view the attachment click on the paper clip.

6.3 - New Notice Board Item

To add a new notice board item click on New Ad

Select category from the drop down list,  enter a subject and detailed description of advert then click Submit.

The advert will be saved and a message will appear to confirm the details.  Now you can either click Back to return to the notice board or upload an attachment (eg:  Image File, Word Document, PDF).

To upload a file click Browse and select the file from your local machine.  Click Upload to upload the file to the FBC website server.

Once the file has been uploaded you will be returned to the View Notice Board screen showing your completed advert.

6.4 Edit Notice Board Item

For adverts that you have created the button Edit Ad will be displayed.  If you wish to amend or remove your advert then click Edit Ad.

You can delete your advert by clicking Delete.

You can amend the advert subject and description and then click Submit to save.

You can also upload a new document (Please note that this will replace the existing document attached to the advert)

7 - MMSI Numbers

Member MMSI Numbers can be accessed from the members area by clicking on "Members" link on the main menu at the top or bottom of the page.

Member services are listed on the left hand side of the page, click on "MMSI Numbers"

To add your MMSI number please complete the MMSI field and Comment field (Optional) then click Add.

You can remove your MMSI number be clicking the " - " button.

8 - Links

FBC Links can be accessed from the home page area by clicking on "Home" link on the main menu at the top or bottom of the page.

Site Map, Images, Videos and Links are on the left hand side of the page, click on "Links"

Link Categories will be displayed to the left of the Boat Club Links page,  clicking on a category will display the related links on the right hand side of the page.

Ratings and number of reviews for links are displayed at the bottom of the link description.

To rate and review a link or to view existing ratings and reviews click either "View Ratings" or "Rate This Link" (Note: This area is restricted to registered members who are signed in)

To rate a link select a rating (Poor, OK, Good, Very Good or Excellent), enter a comment/review and click Submit.

The overall rating for the link with be the average of all individual ratings.
